NSW Top Tourism Town 2021 Award

NSW Tourism Industry Council is on the search to find New South Wales' Top Tourism Town and New South Wales' Small Tourism Town of the year.

The Top Tourism Town Awards will provide communities, business chambers, visitor centres or local governments the opportunity to showcase what makes their town ‘special and unique’ to encourage tourism development, increase visitation and to drive the visitor economy.

ABOUT THE AWARDS
The Top Tourism Town Awards recognise and reward towns that:

  • offer an excellent visitor experience
  • demonstrate a strong commitment to encouraging tourism and increasing visitation to the destination, and
  • exhibit collaboration with tourism operators, businesses and the local community to maximise the potential of the visitor economy within their town and by doing so, make their town the best destination it can be.
This award is presented in two categories:
  • Top Tourism Town Award – those with a population over 5,000 people*.
Suited to established tourism towns where a range of attractions, accommodation and visitor experiences already exist.
  • Small Tourism Town Award – those with a population below 5,000 people*.
Suited to towns that are in the process of establishing a tourism strategy and developing visitor experiences.

* Town population will be determined by the last Census year (2016).
Please note: capital cities are not eligible to enter the Top Tourism Town Awards.
